I set off for Tungnath with 100% enthusiasm and about 10% stamina.
The mountain wasted no time setting me straight: peak altitudes don’t care about confidence—they demand lungs, knees, and humility. My climb quickly turned into a rhythm of burning thighs and frequent "scenic stops," which were 80% survival tactic and 20% genuine awe.
Higher up, the world shifted. The air grew thin and biting. The distant resonance of temple bells, the silent cadence of fellow trekkers, and jagged, snow-draped peaks pierced through the horizon, turning every grueling step into something deeply sacred.
Reaching Tungnath wasn’t just arriving at a destination; it was earning every single breath along the way.
I dragged myself back down completely spent, but full—the kind of soul-deep tiredness where every aching step gave back twice as much as it took.
