About the place

The feeling of Bangus Valley

Bangus Valley lies west of Handwara in Kupwara district and is formed by the larger Bod Bangus and smaller Lokut Bangus landscapes. Broad grasslands, clear streams and conifer-covered mountains give the valley an unusually open character. Its remote setting and seasonal pastoral use make Bangus one of northern Kashmir's most distinctive highland landscapes.
