About the place

The feeling of Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary

Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary protects 104 square kilometres along the Singalila range near the Nepal border. Its forests rise from temperate zones toward alpine meadows and support extensive rhododendron stands, red panda and other Himalayan wildlife. Spring flowering transforms the sanctuary, while the walking route from Hilley provides one of Sikkim's most accessible introductions to its protected highland forests.
