About the place

The feeling of Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary

Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary protects more than 35 square kilometres of forest along the Maenam-Tendong ridge above Ravangla. Its temperate forests support red panda, serow, Himalayan black bear, leopard cat and numerous birds, while medicinal plants give Maenam its traditional reputation as a treasure house of medicine. Trekking routes rise through the sanctuary toward Maenam Peak and Bhaledunga.
