About the place
Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary protects 281.5 square kilometres of rugged forest and mountain terrain in Lower Dibang Valley. Elevation rises from low subtropical forest to temperate and conifer zones above 3,500 metres. Natural lakes, rich plant diversity and wildlife habitat make the sanctuary ecologically significant, while its steep terrain means visitors experience only a small part of this extensive protected landscape.
