About the place
Pakyong is the administrative centre of Pakyong district in southeastern Sikkim. Set among green hills, farms and village settlements, the town also hosts Sikkim's first airport and provides access toward Rongli, Aritar and the old Silk Route circuit. Its role is both practical and geographic, linking lower Sikkim with the higher eastern mountain routes.
