Dong is a tiny Meyor village near Walong on the left bank of the Lohit River. It became widely known as a place from which some of India’s earliest sunrise views can be witnessed. Reached through the remote upper Lohit landscape, the village is surrounded by pine-covered mountains and quiet valleys, combining borderland geography with the culture of one of Arunachal Pradesh’s smallest communities.
