Loran is a mountain village in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district, set at the foot of the high Pir Panjal. Forested slopes, streams and surrounding meadows give the settlement a strongly Himalayan setting. It also serves as an approach point for places such as Nandishool waterfall and routes extending toward higher mountain terrain.
