About the place
Miao is a small town in Changlang district on the Noa-Dihing River and the main gateway to Namdapha National Park. Its low elevation, humid forests and proximity to the Patkai hills give it a very different character from Arunachal’s high mountain settlements. Travellers commonly use Miao for permits, supplies and onward access to Deban and the protected forests beyond.
