About the place

The feeling of Rabdentse Ruins

Rabdentse was Sikkim's second royal capital after Yuksom and remained the seat of the kingdom until the early nineteenth century. Today, stone walls, palace foundations and ceremonial spaces lie within forest near Pemayangtse Monastery. The walk through the ruins opens to wide views across the valley toward Khangchendzonga, making the site central to understanding Sikkim's royal history.
