About the place

The feeling of Verinag Spring

Verinag Spring emerges at the foot of the Pir Panjal in Anantnag district and is traditionally regarded as a principal source of the Jhelum River. Emperor Jahangir developed the spring with an octagonal stone basin and Mughal garden. Clear water, old chinars and historic architecture give the site both natural and heritage significance.
