About the place
Yuksom is a historic village in Gyalshing district where Sikkim's first Chogyal was consecrated in 1642. The sacred coronation site at Norbugang and nearby Dubdi Monastery preserve its royal and Buddhist importance. Today Yuksom is also a major gateway to Khangchendzonga National Park and the starting point for celebrated treks toward Dzongri and Goecha La.
