About the place
Betaab Valley lies near Pahalgam in Anantnag district, with the Lidder River, open meadows and forested mountain slopes shaping its landscape. Formerly known as Hajan Valley, it became widely known after the 1983 film Betaab. Today it is a popular day excursion for walking, photography and enjoying the river and surrounding Himalayan scenery.
