About the place

The feeling of Chitkul

Chitkul is the highest inhabited village in the Baspa Valley and one of Kinnaur's most distinctive settlements. Traditional houses, the Mathi temple complex, cultivated fields and the Baspa River sit beneath an imposing mountain landscape. Its remote position near the upper reaches of the valley gives the village a powerful sense of distance and stillness.
