The feeling of Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary
Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary protects 217 square kilometres of forested mountain terrain in West Kameng district. Its exceptional birdlife includes the rare Bugun liocichla, discovered in this landscape, alongside hornbills, pheasants and many other Himalayan species. The sanctuary also supports mammals, butterflies and rich plant diversity, while the neighbouring Bugun community is widely recognised for conservation initiatives.
