Pangin is the headquarters of Siang district and stands near the confluence of the Siyom and Siang rivers. The river junction, steep green hills and nearby Adi settlements define the landscape. Bamboo suspension bridges and routes toward Komsing, Boleng and Aalo make Pangin an important cultural and geographic stop in the central Siang region.
