The feeling of Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary

Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary protects 43 square kilometres near Lachung and Yumthang in Mangan district. The reserve spans high subalpine and alpine terrain and is especially known for its diversity of rhododendrons, including Sikkim’s state tree. Primulas, gentians and other Himalayan flora share the landscape with wildlife, while the Yumthang River flows through the wider sanctuary area.
